Dionne, Liut are Unanimous Winners in HFHL Awards: By Aaron G.
The season has come to an end, congratulations to the Boston Bruins on their second Stanley Cup in three seasons.
Following the Stanley Cup Finals, the results of the HFHL Awards for 1982/83 were revealed.
Despite leading his team to the Stanley Cup, Kelly Hrudey was not voted in as the Calder Trophy winner as HFHL's Rookie of the Year.
That honour would go to Duane Sutter. Sutter would average a point per game this season, with 33 goals and 47 assists en route to taking eight first place votes. He is the second Blackhawk to be named the Calder Trophy winner, after Andy Moog in 1980/81.

There was no mystery surrounding the Vezina Trophy voting. Mike Liut had a dominant season for Detroit, and took home all 12 first place votes to be the unanimous winner of the award. Liut is the second Red Wing to win the Vezina, after Jim Rutherford in 1980/81.

The Norris Trophy for HFHL's Most Oustanding Defenseman was the tightest vote. Boston's Borje Salming edged out Edmonton's Paul Coffey for the honour.

Finally, the Hart Trophy as HFHL's Most Valuable Player went to Boston's Marcel Dionne in a landslide. Dionne established new league records for goals (53) and points (111). He took home all twelve first place votes.
