1983/84 HFHL All-Stars: By Aaron G.
Today, HFHL released the 1983/84 All-Stars. Dertroit leads the way with four players named to the All-Star team. Six players were unanimous all-stars: Wayne Gretzky, Peter Stastny, Charlie Simmer, Guy Lafleur, Stefan Persson, and Mike Liut.

Dale Hawerchuk was the easy winner of the Calder Trophy as HFHL's Rookie of the Year. The Flyers stand-out put up 24 goals and 69 points to earn the honours.
Al MacInnis was the runner-up, with 10 goals and 42 points from the Chicago blueline, while a pair of Steve's in Vancouver probably split votes from each other, since it wasn't clear who was even the best rookie in Vancouver, led alone in the league. Yzerman finished third while Larmer and his rookie leading 32 goals was fourth in the vote.

For the second straight season, the top three in Vezina voting were the same guys in the same order. Mike Liut takes home the hardware, with Andy Moog as the runner-up and Mario Lessard coming in third. Liut played 62 games and posted a 2.71 GAA, 37-13-5 record, 5 shut-outs, for an .893sv%.

The Norris Trophy for HFHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman was easily the tightest vote. Paul Coffey edged out Stefan Persson by a single voting point to win the award, and five different players earned at least one first place vote.

Finally, the Hart Trophy as HFHL's Most Valuable Player went to Edmonton's Wayne Gretzky in a landslide. Gretzky led the league in assists and points, while third place finisher Guy Lafleur led the league in goals. It is the second career Hart Trophy for Gretzky, following his 1981/82 win.
